News 9 is learning more about a shooting that happened June 23rd, 2018 in the 600 block of North University Blvd.

A recent search of police documents confirms that 48-year old Terry Roach, who was killed on the front lawn of a Norman home, was also arrested for a violent rape case in Oklahoma City earlier this year.

OCPD officers took a report of the alleged rape incident in May, 2018 off of South Clegern Street.

Police say a woman was choked and held down by Roach while he sexually assaulted her.

He was arrested, but months later found dead in Norman.

Stacey Zimmerman is accused of pulling the trigger and now charged with second degree murder.

A neighbor called 911 shortly after the shooting:

911: Are you safe where you are at?

Caller: Yes. I am at my own house. She went back into the house. It's personal. They have been fighting. The cops have been over there several times. I went to buy groceries and heard shots.

Zimmerman also called 911, but police have not released a copy of the recording.

Authorities say that call did not come until after the shooting.

The facts of the case point to charges of second degree murder.

Police said Zimmerman told them that she let Roach stay with her for a few weeks, but kicked him out five or four days before the shooting.

Zimmerman told officers, on the day of the shooting, she knew Roach was coming over.

According to documents, an officer wrote that, "Zimmerman stated she received an email from the subject stating he was dropping something off at her front porch prior to the shooting."

Then, records state she, "grabbed a black rifle and went to the dining room of the home and stood by the table waiting for him."

Officers say her cellphone was on the table, but she did not call 911 initially.

Instead, Zimmerman said she shot at Roach after he broke into her home.

Then, she reportedly called 911 after, and told officers on scene she feared for her life.

Police pointed out another inconsistency in court documents.

They say Zimmerman recalls firing at Roach when he broke into her home, but officers say shell casing were only found outside the home, as well as the victim’s body.

In a 911 call to dispatch, the witness said:

911: And when she shot him, where was she at?

Caller: They were both on their front porch.

911: Both of them were?

Caller: Well, he's in the yard.

911: I understand.

Zimmerman's friends say she tried to file victim’s protective order days before the shooting, but did not meet filing requirements because they did not have an address for Roach.

Roach was also charged with drug crimes in Logan and Oklahoma County, and Indecent Exposure in Cleveland County.
