Window Smashed, Valuables Stolen In NW OKC Burglary

Brooke Hawkins and Erika Almanza were only inside Dave & Busters at NW Expressway and May for 15 to 20 minutes Thursday evening.

They came back out to Almanza’s car around 7pm.

“I just see my window and I was like, ‘No, that can’t be my window’ and then I just walk closer and there’s glass everywhere all in my car, all outside,” Almanza explained.

“As soon as I saw that the window was smashed, I knew my purse would be gone,” Hawkins said.

Sure enough, someone took her purse. She had tried to hide it under the seat.

Her sentimental jewelry was gone, along with her IDs, and debit card.

“They used my debit card at a gas station before I could get it cancelled,” Hawkins told News 9.

The victims called police and have been going to pawn shops to search for the stolen stuff. They also took the car to get the window repaired.

They hope whoever did this is caught.

“I’m scared that it’ll happen again since I’m in that area so often,” Almanza said.
