After a temporary Chick-fil-A opened in downtown Tulsa, a permanent location could be around the corner.

The test location near 5th and Boston was a success, as the line grew by the minute, until they ran out of food.

A temporary location opened Monday as a test to see how many customers the restaurant could attract.

The test went well, as the line on Boston Avenue grew by the minute until they ran out of food.

“For years, we have had people coming to us saying we need a store downtown," said Arthur Greeno with Chick-fil-A.

Greeno spearheaded the temporary location, which opened for lunch Monday to test the downtown market. After an hour, the make-shift restaurant was nearly out of food, so Greeno called in for more.

People lined up and down the street, waiting to sink their teeth into some Chick-fil-A and to help a good cause.

"All the proceeds are going to Tulsa Pop Kids, so it's a wonderful way to support the non-profit and express how passionate we are about children’s literacy, but yet share some great food," said Pamela Seawright with Tulsa Pop Kids.

The test continues all week at the 5th and Boston location, which will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“We are learning about the downtown. We are new down here. We want to make sure if we find out that we need to be open at 10:30 a.m., then we will make some adjustments," Greeno said.

Greeno hopes to have a permanent location in downtown Tulsa eventually, something customers said they are excited for.
