OKLAHOMA CITY - One man was arrested Saturday after police found a man dead in a northwest Oklahoma City apartment.

Rufus E. Townsend, 63, of Oklahoma City, was arrested on a murder complaint. He is accused of killing 56-year-old Joel Stephen White, of Oklahoma City.

Police were called about 7:45 p.m. Saturday to the 5800 block of NW 34 Street. When officers arrived, they found White dead with injuries "consistent with homicide."

Townsend was at the apartment when officers arrived and was quickly arrested.

Investigators think Townsend and White were together in the apartment when an altercation occurred. It is unclear what caused the altercation.

Townsend was booked in the Oklahoma County jail.
