Grandma's Lake Coleslaw

  • 1 (16 ounce) bag coleslaw mix
  • 2 tablespoons grated onion
  • 3/4 cup creamy salad dressing  (aka Miracle Whip)
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • salt and pepper (to taste)
  1. Place the coleslaw mix in a large bowl.
  2. In a small bowl, stir together the grated onion, salad dressing, vegetable oil, sugar, and white vinegar.
  3. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Pour the dressing over the coleslaw mix and toss well.
  5. Allow the coleslaw to sit covered in the refrigerator for at least two hours before serving.
