Sooners & Cowboys Ready For Big 12 Baseball Tournament

Posted: Updated:
OKLAHOMA CITY -

Oklahoma State became the first ever eight-seed to win the Big 12 tournament a year ago, and they needed to do so in order to assure themselves an NCAA Tournament spot. This year, the Cowboys charge into the postseason as the two-seed and their NCAA tournament fate secure, but the goal remains the same.

"We understood our reality going into last year's tournament, we understand our reality now, you need to play well, period," Josh Holliday. "There's no room for taking a deep breath and saying we're just going to show up in Oklahoma City and have some fun in Bricktown. We're here to win, and we're here to win every time we come."

The Sooners saunter into Bricktown feeling pretty good about their resume as well, but they'd also just like to get a win or two in OKC after going 0-2 last year.

"I think the main thing is momentum, to be able to going into a regional with momentum, feeling good about yourself, feeling confident," Steele Walker said. "That's what the Big 12 tournament can do for a team."

It will be baseball with a side of breakfast for the Sooners tomorrow when they take on the five-seed Baylor at 9:00 am here at Bricktown Ballpark. Meanwhile, the Cowboys get to sleep in a little bit longer, they take on 7-seed West Virginia at 4 o'clock.
