Caprese Cheesy Bread

  • 1 loaf ciabatta bread, sliced in half
  • 1 stick unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella or Italian cheese blend
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 large tomatoes, sliced thin
  • 1/4 c. balsamic vinegar glaze
  • 2-3 tablespoon sliced fresh basil
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F or BROIL setting.
  2. Place bread halves on a large baking sheet.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the butter and garlic salt till well blended.
  4. Spread the butter mixture over the bread halves.
  5. Sprinkle with the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  6. Set slices of tomato over the top of the cheese.
  7. Place the bread into the oven and cook till the cheese is golden brown and bubbly.
  8. Remove from the oven and add fresh basil to the top of the hot cheese bread.
  9. Drizzle with balsamic glaze.
  10. Cut into slices and serve!
