With severe weather in the forecast this week, Oklahoma City leaders are warning residents to prepare accordingly.
Oklahoma City is possibly in store for a severe mix of severe weather on Wednesday according to our weather experts. That includes straight line winds, large hail, and possible tornadoes.
Everyone should take shelter if they hear an outdoor warning siren sound in areas where the National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning or where a storm tracker reports a tornado.
The Oklahoma City Office of Emergency management recommends people should shelter in place in the event of a tornado warning. Oklahoma City does not have public storm shelters.
If you don't have access to a shelter, ideal spots indoors are closets, interior hallways or rooms with no windows on the lowest level of a house or building.
City leaders encourage everyone to have access to a weather radio.
