OSU football wrapped up its spring game in Stillwater Saturday.

It's a different vibe around the OSU program this spring. Replacing Mason Rudolph is perhaps the number one thing on the to-do list.

Right now, Taylor Cornelius is the guy, and he showed signs during the spring game, connecting with the walk-on from Tulsa East Central, Landon Wolf for a touchdown early. Cornelius 15 of 27 for more than 250 yards on the day.

"Taylor's been around here forever, he understands our offense. I don't think there's any question he'll distribute the ball properly and I think we have enough guys that can make plays," said Head Coach Mike Gundy.

All-Big 12 back Justice Hill will lead that group, but it's deep and Cowboy fans got a glimpse of redshirt freshman Chuba Hubbard from Canada. The speedster showed some toughness in tight areas. JD King and LD Brown also have a year in the system and will contribute.

Defensively, new coordinator Jim Knowles' 4-2-5 scheme will be aggressive. Knowles wants his players to come after teams to land the first punch, so to speak, and to keep punching.

Calvin Bundage is one of those players who should benefit.

"Yeah definitely. You just kinda a lot of times just let Calvin loose and go get the quarterback and he enjoys that. Coming from gaps, blitzing, he enjoys it," said Cole Walterscheid.

Offensive lineman Larry Williams gets that extra year of eligibility thanks to an injury last year and after contemplating going pro he said he'll be back.

The quarterback battle will look different in the fall after Hawaii grad transfer Dru Brown and true freshman Spencer Sanders get to campus.
