Hamburger Noodle Casserole

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped
  • 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 package egg noodles, cooked al dente and drained
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 container cream cheese, room temperature
  • 3 green onions, chopped
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Spray a 9x13 casserole pan.
  3. In a skillet, brown the ground beef, garlic, onions. Once the meat is browned, drain the oil and return the meat mixture to the pan.
  4. Pour the tomato sauce over the meat and sprinkle with sugar.
  5. Bring the meat sauce to a simmer.
  6. In a small bowl mix together the cream cheese, sour cream and 1/4 cup of parmesan cheese.
  7. To assemble the casserole: add 1/2 of the cooked noodles to the bottom of the prepared casserole pan.
  8. Pour 1/2 of the sauce mixture over the noodles.
  9. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the sauce.
  10. Add the remaining noodles and cover with the rest of the sauce.
  11. Sprinkle with 1/4 cup of parmesan cheese.
  12. Cook for 25 minutes uncovered.
