Seventy-four veterans visited our nation's capital Wednesday as a part of Warrior Flight.

Police and Honor Guard escorted the veterans to the airport Wednesday morning. Veterans from World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War are part of the flight. The oldest of the veterans is a 99-year-old World War II vet.

While in D.C. with Oklahoma Warriors, the veterans spent the day visiting memorials honoring the wars they fought. The veterans say they are grateful for this opportunity.

"Reuniting with my friends that’s on the wall and visiting with them, saying hello to my old buddies and just enjoying my trip. This is so wonderful," said Gary Monks, Vietnam veteran.

The veterans returned to Tulsa around 9:45 p.m. Wednesday evening The public was invited to come out and cheer them on as they return. If you want to help support them on their trip back. Warrior Flight organizers are asking you to be at the airport around 9 p.m.
