Multi-Purpose Baking Mix

  • 9 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 2 cups shortening

**add 1 cup non-fat dry milk or just use milk in your recipe in lieu of water

  1. Add all the dry ingredients in a large bowl.
  2. Stir together to thoroughly combined.
  3. Then place half of the dry mixture in a food processor and one cup of shortening and pulse until the shortening is blended into the flour mixture completely.
  4. Place the baking mix in a large gallon size Ziploc bag.
  5. Repeat with the remaining ingredients.
  6. Store baking mix for up to 6 months in the pantry.
