KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - Kansas is the top seed and Texas Tech is second for the Big 12 men's basketball tournament, which starts with a pair of opening round games Wednesday night in Kansas City.

Iowa State plays Texas, while Oklahoma plays Oklahoma State in the other opening game. There are four games on Thursday.

The Big 12 was ranked as the top RPI conference in the nation and most of the teams are hoping the tournament improves their potential seeding for the NCAA Tournament.

Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Baylor are considered bubble teams, though Kansas State and TCU want to win at least a game to improve their resumes.
