Luther’s police chief wants it known that he will find the man who slashed a fellow officer with a knife at least four times a week ago.
Chief David Randall said it was Deputy Police Chief Mike Class who pulled over to talk to a man who was walking along Northeast 164th Street last Thursday, shortly before 2 p.m. Randall said that subject turned away from Deputy Chief Class, then turned a knife on Class, slashing one of his forearms four times, before running away.

“That’s the part that got me, was he stopped to try to see, it looked like somebody was lost,” said Chief Randall. “And the guy turned around and started slashing. It makes no sense! That’s why I really want him, because if he’ll do it to a cop, he’ll do it to anybody.”
Chief Randall said Class has no interest in discussing the attack with the media.
