A metro man was robbed of cash and junk food after responding to a bogus meet-up on a popular dating app.

It happened just after 4 a.m. on Wednesday, near a home in the 3400 block of S. Parkview Ave. According to the report, the victim had been talking with one of the suspects, a 17-year-old female, on the “Meet Me” app.

The victim told police that the teen told him she wanted him to come over and have sex, but she asked him to bring over “two bags of Sour Patch Kids candy, two bags of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos and a bottle of Pepsi.”

When the victim arrived at the home, he told police that two men came up behind him, pushed him to the ground and pointed guns at him.

According to the report, the two men, identified as 20-year-old Austin Badgett and 20-year-old Dylan Buxton, specifically demanded the candy, chips and soda. After handing that stuff over, the victim said they wanted his money. The victim gave them the cash and was allowed to leave, during which time he called police.

Responding officers were amazed to find a Hansel and Gretel-type trail of Cheetos leading up to the front door of the home that the alleged robbery took place. Police say that when they knocked on the door, and the suspects answered, they could see some of the stolen items sitting inside the house in plain sight.

After searching the home and gathering evidence, police arrested all three suspects on a complaint of armed robbery.

Badgett and Buxton were taken to the Oklahoma County Jail, where they remain behind bars on a $20,000 bond. Because of her age, 17-year-old was taken into juvenile custody.
