OHP Investigates Death On I-35 Ramp

Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) troopers worked Friday to reconstruct the scene of a fatality near I-35 southbound and Seward Road.

They took photos and measurements on the off-ramp, where investigators said a woman died the night before. OHP initially responded to the area around 10:45 p.m. Thursday.

According to the Medical Examiner, the victim had head injuries consistent with jumping or being pushed from a moving vehicle.

OHP Lieutenant Kera Philippi said that vehicle did not stick around.

“From what we can tell at the scene,” Lt. Philippi said, "it looks like a vehicle that would’ve been involved is possibly some kind of a Chevy SUV."

The reported victim is 33-year-old Vanya J. Evans.

Lt. Philippi said her family is in Rhode Island. But according to the report, investigators don't know where she was living or what led to this.
