An Oklahoma City woman told police she shot and killed her husband inside a mobile home in southeast Oklahoma City.
“I just moved here,” said Madaysia Taylor, neighbor, "so it’s kind of shocking,”
Residents in the Meridian Sooner neighborhood woke up to yellow tape and police units at 33-year-old Christina Mason’s mobile home.
“Kind of weird” said neighbor Christian Calfy, "because she lives right next to me. It happened, and I was asleep and everything.”
He lives across the street from where police said Mason shot and killed her husband, 39-year-old Boyd Quisenberry.
“It was a little after six this morning when police were called to a welfare call at a residence in a trailer park in southeast Oklahoma City," said Msgt. Gary Knight, Oklahoma City Police Department.
When officers responded they found Quisenberry dead inside the home. Mason told officers her husband came into the home armed with a knife and threatened her. She grabbed a pistol and fired at him.
Oklahoma County jail officials confirm Quisenberry was released from jail around 3:45 a.m. on Wednesday. Court records indicate he had recently received a suspended sentence for domestic abuse and violating a victim’s protective order. Mason was granted a VPO against her husband in July. She also filed for one in June but it was dropped.
Taylor said, “I mean, if she had a VPO and he broke into her house, then she should have shot him.”
Mason has been interviewed by homicide detectives and released.
“There have been no arrests in this case,” said Knight. “Again, very early in the investigation.”
The completed investigation will go to the Oklahoma County District Attorney’s office for review. Prosecutors will determine if Mason will be charged or not.
