Blanchard Police Battle Crimes From Cellphones With New Software

Blanchard Police Department investigators have new equipment that will help them better serve the community. 

New software is enabling trained investigative personnel to access digital data related to crimes such as telephone harassment all the way to identity theft.

This software can freeze and save data on cellphones or other digital devices and preserve the data that could be used to prosecute offenders who use their devices while committing crimes.

A technology grant helped pay for the new equipment. The department said more positive changes are planned for the near future.
