OKCPD Arrests Another For March Murder
OKLAHOMA CITY - Oklahoma City Police have made another arrest for the gunshot murder of a Prague High School football and wrestling standout last March.
16-year-old E.J. Zenon was fatally shot and left for dead in a Brookwood Village Apartments parking lot in southwest Oklahoma City. Zenon went there to buy marijuana but police say 21-year-old Terrel Skinner and two other men robbed Zenon and then shot him in the back.
Despite incredible efforts by OU Medical Center ER doctors, Zenon died at the hospital a short-time later. Hundreds of people attended Zenon’s funeral and a candlelight vigil.
“I don’t have any respect for them,” said Triceson Burdine, a Prague High School freshman and member of the Red Devil’s football team. "That was pretty messed up for killing E.J., because they just wanted more money in their pockets."
Oklahoma City Police spokesman Gary Knight says many tough cases take time to crack.
“You see shows like 'The First 48' and things like that and, certainly, it’s a good thing when you can catch people immediately, but not all these cases work out that way. Sometimes it takes us a while to piece together the information or put together the puzzle that happened.”
