Residents Evacuated After Fire Breaks Out At NW OKC Apartment Complex

Posted: Updated:
OKLAHOMA CITY -

Crews have gotten a handle on an apartment fire on the northside of Lake Overholser, Saturday evening.

Firefighters were called out to the scene at the Stonebridge Cove Townhomes, located near N. Overholser Drive and Cove Drive. Fire crews reported the fire was located in the attic of an apartment building, with visible flames and smoke shooting from the top of the building.

An official cause for the fire has not yet been determined, but firefighters say it appears to have stemmed from the chimney in one of the first-floor units.

Authorities evacuated all residents from the building while crews battle the blaze. There have been no reports of injuries at this time.

A preliminary damage estimate has not yet been made.
