One Dead After Crash Involving Semi North Of Union City

UNION CITY, Oklahoma -

A man is dead after a wreck involving a tractor-trailer was reported north of Union City.

The crash happened after 7:15 a.m. Thursday near SW 59 and Highway 81.

According to the Union City Police Department, a pickup, driven by 89-year-old Donald Curtis Taylor, of Minco, was traveling east on SW 59th when he attempted to cross HWY 81. The departments says they believe Taylor's view was obscured by a semi turning westbound onto SW 59th from SB HWY 81 outside lane.Taylor's pickup was then struck by a semi traveling southbound in the inside lane. 

Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene.
