Police are hoping to identify a thief caught on camera riding off on a very expensive bicycle from a store in NW OKC.

It happened on Nov. 2 at the Wheeler Dealer bicycle shop located near NW 50th Street and N. May Avenue. The shop owner told police the suspect came into the store and selected a bike lock off the wall and took it to the checkout counter.

While at the counter, the owner said the suspect asked about a particular bike and pricing. According to the report, the suspect then walked back towards the front of the store, took a bike from a rack that was about six-feet from the door, and just simply rode off. According to the store owner, the bike was valued at approximately $2,700.

Police say the suspect rode east on NW 50th Street with store employees attempting to give chase.

The suspect is described as a white male wearing a blue shirt and gray slacks. He was clean cut and appeared to have a tattoo on the inside of his left forearm.

If you have any information regarding this theft, you are asked to call Crime Stoppers at (405) 235-7300. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
