Two students at Jenks West Elementary are riding into the weekend in style. They each earned a brand new bike after being chosen from a group of 40 of their classmates.

It's a day Jenks West Elementary kids have waited weeks for. Fourth-grader Lun Khai is the proud owner of a new bike and helmet.

In his application, Lun says he spends little time outside because there is nothing to do.

This changes everything.

It's a feeling State Farm Agent Justin Carlton is familiar with.

"I never forgot that," Justin Carlton said

The idea to give students their very own bike came from his childhood.

"My mother couldn't, at that time, provide us one and someone saw that I was trying to teach myself how to ride a bike and they gave her the money to go buy one," he said.

He teamed up with City Cycles to make these moments possible.

"You just can't say no to an idea like that," said Jake Drevs, manager of City Cycles bike shop.

Monie Chase is riding a bike for the first time.

"It was really awesome - we really appreciate it. Thank you," said Monee Chase, Monie's mother.

"We have just really made a difference in two students' lives today," said Suzanne Lair, West Elementary Principal.

The school plans to keep the program going each quarter - so first, second and third graders will get new bikes too.
