Jenks police are making sure a very special young man is having a great birthday.

Mason turned 11 Wednesday. He struggles with several intellectual disabilities and is on the autism spectrum.

Jenks officers met Mason at a fundraiser for the Sspecial Olympics.

Mason's mother told officers he always loved law enforcement.

She asked if the officers could just give him a tour of their station.

"We thought, not only do we want to do a tour for this man, but we want to recognize him for his hard work, his great attitude for his ability to do the things he's doing. He's an excellent athlete, just a wonderful young man."

So Jenks officers threw Mason a surprise birthday party today.
