Enterprise Holdings, the rental car company says it is ready to use their fleet of cars to help support recovery efforts in southeast Texas.

In a news release, the company said regional Enterprise operations have an emergency action plan for when disaster hits an area.

That plan focuses on how branch offices communicate with each other to ensure that the right number and types of vehicles are available when they are needed the most.

Enterprise is collaborating with FEMA, General Services Administration, the state of Texas, insurance catastrophe teams, energy companies and more.

The release goes on to say, in addition to helping with transportation needs, the Enterprise Rent-A-Car Foundation is donating $1 million to the American Red Cross to aid in the recovery of affected communities in Texas.

Enterprise is also sending its Mobile Emergency Response Vehicle (MERV) to be stationed in Dickenson, Texas.

The vehicle operates as a portable, state-of-the-art branch office in the event of an emergency. It’s equipped with 3 work stations, five computers, and a front counter.

Enterprise says thousands of vehicles from locations in neighboring cities and states are prepared to be brought into the most impacted areas in Houston when it is safe to do so.
