Police are investigating a crime spree in north Oklahoma City. Investigators believe one man is behind at least eight burglaries spanning from July 16 to Aug 2.
The suspect is described as a white man with a tattoo on his left bicep and burn marks on his neck and lower arms. Police have obtained video of him from a number of local businesses.
The first burglary happened at Award Motors on West Memorial Road. The car lot owner, Trever Ward said the suspect rummaged through offices and stole a vehicle from the garage.
“It was one of those, that hey if he needed it to better himself to get to work or what not,” said Ward. “That’s one thing, but to hear he is just out doing malicious things. That just really burns me up.”
The stolen car was later found trashed and inoperable.
A week later police said the same suspect burglarized two gas stations, three Sonics, a Braum’s and on Aug 2, the suspect hit up a local steak restaurant.
Police were able to tie the crimes together after noticing similar break-ins.
“The front glass of these businesses has been broken out,” said Megan Morgan, Oklahoma City Police Department. “The suspect is seen entering the businesses and going up to the cash register.”
In some cases he only steals cash. However, in one burglary the suspect stole the entire cash register.
He spent the most time at the car lot but in most of the burglaries, police said he is in and out in a matter of minutes.
“Hope justice prevails and they get him,” said Ward. “I’ll have some satisfaction there.”
Police said the same suspect may also be responsible for burglaries in other metro cities.
