If you're an online shopper there is one big thing you'll want to keep in mind when buying your last second gifts to protect yourself.
HTTPS.
That's what the Better Business Bureau wants to you know. It means what you're doing is secure. The BBB says you want to be sure to look for the "S." Just look to the top left of your screen at the URL in the web address bar and the "S" will be there.
Scam experts say if that letter isn't there you may want to check twice.
"Because the s stands for secure," said Sean Rose, Better Business Bureau, "which means that your credit card and financial information is protected on a secure encrypted area and that's really kind of key."
One other tip when shopping online is to use your credit card and not your debit card. Your debit card can be risky because it's linked directly to your bank account.
