Crews Respond To Commercial Fire In NW OKC

OKLAHOMA CITY -

Firefighters were called to the scene of a commercial fire on the northwest side of the metro.

The four-alarm blaze was called out at Tower Tech Inc., located near NW 5th St. and N. MacArthur Blvd. Tower Tech manufactures high-efficiency cooling towers according to the company's website.

Authorities say the fire started was started by a welding torch. About 100 people self-evacuated from the building before fire crews arrived on scene. There have been no reports of injuries at this time. Just before 2 p.m., firefighters tell News 9 the fire was under control.

The fire caused near $400,000 in damage.
