After an accident on icy roads, a young couple found themselves trapped in their car along a remote highway.

Finally, some good Samaritans pulled them to safety but leave before that couple can thank them. The girl's aunt turned to social media posting a plea on Facebook, Craigslist and other websites asking for any information about who the two strangers who stopped to help.

Thursday night, Alix Scott and her boyfriend Renzo Filomeno had just crossed over an icy bridge on Indian Hills Road.

“Lost control of the car, spun out a little bit and then rolled down the hill and landed at the tree,” explained Alix Scott.

They blacked out and when they woke up they realized they were trapped in their car. They estimate they waited there for about 10 minutes before help finally came.

“We could hear them. We were like we’re here to help, it’s OK,” she said.

But the two people who came to their rescue went on their way once emergency crews arrived. Scott and Filomeno had no idea who they were but were desperate to find them. So they turned to social media.

It worked.

Monday afternoon, Scott and Filomeno were able to meet and properly thank Bryan and Kelly Johnson who some are calling their guardian angels after they ran into the ditch and were able to pull both Scott and Filomeno out of the car.

“When you got down there you smelled the gas and the anti-freeze and the car was still running and I thought ‘Oh my God, if this thing catches fire, these kids aren’t going to make it out.’ There wasn’t anyone else going to get hurt any further on my watch anyway,” said Bryan Johnson.
