University Of Tulsa Football Players Graduate Before Miami Beach Bowl

MIAMI, Florida -

Two University of Tulsa football players got a special commencement ceremony as they prepare for the Miami Beach Bowl.

James Flanders and Ryan Rubley took part in what organizers were calling the "138th and 1/2" TU commencement exercise - in Miami.  The running back and linebacker graduated in the team hotel Sunday morning. 

While Tulsa suffered through single-digit weather, the Hurricane enjoyed 85 degrees and white sand. Monday they will face Central Michigan.

Tulsa will be seeking its 10th win of the season, while CMU will be looking to notch win number seven. The Hurricane comes into the game with an overall 9-3 record while losing only to #2 Ohio State, Houston and Navy.
