Jordan Woodard banked in a contested game-tying 3-pointer with 0.6 seconds left, but Memphis was too much to handle in the extra session as Oklahoma dropped back-to-back games for the first time this season.

While the ending didn’t go as planned, the Sooners opened the game on fire from the field. Motivated by a different starting lineup that featured two freshmen, Jordan Shepherd and Kristian Doolittle, OU made 17-of-21 shots to open the game and converted 13 consecutive field goals at one point to take a 35-23 lead with 8:55 left in the first half.

It was a great start, but the Sooners suddenly went cold, hitting only 2-of-13 shots the rest of the half.

Despite struggling to hit shots, Oklahoma managed to keep a sizable lead through most of the second half, but the Tigers ripped off a 9-to-0 run to get within two points, then after OU got its lead back up to five points at 77-72, Memphis scored eight straight points to take an 80-77 lead with 33.6 left.

Woodard’s miraculous three sent the game to OT, but Memphis continued its strong play in the final five minutes to finish off the Sooners.

Woodard finished with 22 points and four rebounds while Christian James added 15 points off the bench. Jamuni McNeace scored a career-high 13 points to go with nine rebounds and Dante Buford scored 10 of his own.

Dedric Lawson led Memphis with 26 points while Jeremiah Martin added 25. The Tigers led the free throw battle, making 28-of-32 while the Sooners attempted only 17.

OU will be back in action on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. against Auburn.
