OKLAHOMA CITY -

A woman and child were killed Saturday morning after flames engulfed their home near 1100 N.W. 80th Street. Both were found in a downstairs bedroom of the home.

Firefighters say flames were coming from both the front and back of the 1.5 story home when they arrived. They began attacking the fire and quickly found the two victims. Firefighters say the woman had already died from her injuries. The child was taken to the hospital, but later died.

The Oklahoma City Police Department is assisting the fire department to investigate the cause of the fire. However, it has not yet been determined whether any foul play was involved.

The woman and child were the only people home at the time of the fire.
