Chrysanthemum Ewertz, 29, was sentenced to 10 years probation and 300 hours of community service in the death of longtime wife and partner Sabrina Ewertz, 32.
Police told News 9 the two women had a fight the morning of Sept. 4. Officers say when Chrysanthemum tried to leave their home in the 3800 block of N.W. 26th Street, Sabrina jumped on the car to stop her. But Chrysanthemum hit the gas.
Officers later found Sabrina dead in the road.
Chrysanthemum pleaded Nolo Contendere to charges of inattentive driving. A Nolo Contendere plea means a suspect accepts conviction as though a guilty plea had been entered but does not admit guilt.
