KANSAS CITY, Kansas - According to CBS-affiliate KCTV5, a hotel in Kansas City, Kan., has been evacuated as police are currently in a standoff with a guest who fired gunshots at them.

KCTV5 says police told them the standoff began when hotel management responded to a disturbance in the man's room and tried to remove him.

Police were called to assist in the removal of the man. When they arrived, the suspect fired shots at police through the hotel room door. No officers were hit.

Police have turned off the power and deployed tear gas into the suspect's room to try and end the situation.

Reports say the there are other people in the room with the shooter.

UPDATE 9:34 A.M.: KCTV5 reports the standoff is over with the suspect under arrest and sustaining one gunshot wound.
