Central Oklahoma’s Better Business Bureau has issued a warning about dog breeder scams around the state.
Better Business Bureau President and CEO Kitt Letcher says her office has received numerous complaints from victims in recent weeks. She says scam artists posing as sophisticated dog breeders on the internet have been scamming and bilking victims out of hundreds, even thousands of dollars per dog.
“This is one of those areas where you want to buy local,” said Letcher. “And you want to be a pet where you can go and see them, see the parents, get some medical history on the animal.”
Now through Christmas, you can adopt a dog at Oklahoma City Animal Welfare for half price – just $30, and you can adopt adult cats for free.
