At least three people have been killed and several other wrecks have occurred on roads, highways and bridges all over the metro, Thursday evening.

According to the Oklahoma City Fire Department, as of 8:22 p.m., crews have responded to 81 separate injury crashes around the metro and calls continue to come in. Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) troopers confirm one person was killed in a crash on the westbound side of I-240 at S. Penn Ave, and another person was killed in a crash on the eastbound side of I-40 at Garth Brooks Blvd in Yukon. Just after 9:00 p.m., OHP confirmed a third fatality crash occurred on northbound I-35 at Hefner Road in Oklahoma City.

Multiple crashes have been reported on Interstate 35 and Interstate 40, some with injuries reported, with traffic moving slowly or at a standstill on thoroughfares all over Oklahoma City. A semi was involved in a rollover crash near I-40 and the Kilpatrick Turnpike. Authorities say someone had to be extricated from that wreck. No word yet on injuries.

At least eight vehicles were involved in a crash near Reno Ave. and N. MLK Ave., OKCFD reported on their Twitter page.

The National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory for several counties in central Oklahoma until 11 p.m.

So far, the City of Oklahoma City has deployed six salt trucks to treat the roads. And seven more are being brought in to salt bridges and overpasses.
