It’s bitterly cold outside and there are people who have nowhere to go to get warm, including children.
With a slight dusting of snow predicted for Saturday, the Salvation Army will go into emergency status mode on Friday.
They'll roll out an additional 60 cots in addition to their 190 beds. And while people often seek them out in their time of need, they're also making sure to go where help is needed by going into the metro and looking for families with children reluctant to get help.
Today the Salvation Army will head out to homeless campsites with their food truck and van. They'll be handing out coats, blankets, coffee, and a hot meal for those who need it.
