An Oklahoma City police officer crashed into a guardrail on I-40 near Yukon going at a very high speed during a chase.

The chase started when the officer realized the suspect's vehicle did not have a license plate. The officer's pursuit ended when the officer lost control of his cruiser crashing into a guardrail while westbound on I-40 at Morgan Road.

We're told the officer was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect was able to get away until he ran into police stop sticks a short time later near I-40 near Czech Hall Rd., right behind an OnCue gas station.

Workers there say they heard a lot of commotion along I-40 and saw at least twelve police cars.

The suspect has been identified as Benjamin Forslund. Forslund will be charged with the unauthorized use of a vehicle, attempting to elude officers, illegal tag display, and driving 115 mph in a 60 mph zone.

The officer has been treated and released from the hospital.
