Funeral information has been released for the off-duty Broken Arrow police officer who was killed in a motorcycle crash Saturday.

Visitation for Eugene “Gene” Orr begins Wednesday, December 14th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Leonard and Marker Funeral Home at 6521 East 151st Street South, Bixby, Oklahoma 74008.

The funeral is set for Thursday, December 15th at 2:00 p.m. at The Church at BattleCreek at 3025 North Aspen Avenue, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, 74012.

Orr, a 12-year veteran of the Broken Arrow Police Department, was riding a 2014 Kawasaki motorcycle Saturday at about 3 p.m. near East 111th Street and State Highway 51 in Coweta when his motorcycle and a 1997 white Chevy pickup collided, police said.

Orr, who lived in Coweta with his family, was heading home from getting gas for his motorcycle when the collision occurred, police said.

Coweta Police said the driver of the pickup, 25-year-old Corey Campbell, was likely not paying attention as he tried to turn left into McDonald's and instead he hit Orr.

Orr was transported to a nearby hospital where he later died from his injuries, BAPD said.

Campbell was not injured.

CPD didn't ticket Campbell and they said they don't believe alcohol played a role in the accident. But, the D.A. will be making the decision Monday on if any charges will be filed, police said.

To help Orr’s family, the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge #170 has opened an account with First National Bank in Broken Arrow. Donations may be made in cash or check in person at any First Nation Bank branch in Broken Arrow; you can also mail donations to First National Bank 121 S. Main Street, Broken Arrow, OK 74012.

Checks must be made payable to “Broken Arrow FOP #170” with “Memorial Fund” written in the memo line.

A Go Fund Me Account has also been created. You can find more information here.
