UPDATE: Pottawatomie County Undersheriff JT Palmer said Monday both the trailer and minibus have been recovered and were returned to the owner unharmed.

Deputies in Pottawatomie County are investigating after a trailer carrying a unique miniature bus was stolen in broad daylight Tuesday.

It was taken from a driveway on Limousin Lane in Shawnee. The victim said the suspect removed locks on the trailer and hooked it up and drove off sometime between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. on December 6.

Bob Williams with Village Tours said the bus inside the trailer is a ¼ replica of an “Eagle bus” and was handmade by an engineer from the company when he was 85-years-old. “It was one of a kind,” Williams told News 9.

Here is a video of the bus. (https://youtu.be/0kmNcnwfanc)

The bus was scheduled to be in the Catoosa Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 10. But that won’t happen unless the it is found, Williams said.

Pottawatomie County Undersheriff JT Palmer said they do have a suspect in this case, but was unable to release any more information about who may have been responsible.

If you have any information regarding the reported theft, call the sheriff’s office and ask for Deputy Opela at (405) 273-1727.
