For the Wagoner football team, practicing in December has become routine as has facing Oologah for the 4A state title.

"We've been like this for the past three years,” said quarterback Malcolm Rodriguez. “It's what we want."

Head Coach Dale Condict added, "You drive yourself crazy. You've played them and you know them."

For the third straight year, it's Wagoner and Oologah for a state championship. And the Bulldogs know there will be no surprises.

"You're watching film, and I find myself like, ‘Why am I watching this?’ I kinda know what we're going to get here," said Condict.

Rodriguez said, "It's a big deal for us. Playing them all three years, we know them, they know us. It's going to be a good game."

No matter the outcome Friday night, it will be the end of an era for Wagoner.

This senior class, at the very least, will have played in three state championship games, owned the longest active winning streak in the state of Oklahoma, and has a chance to go down as the most decorated class in school history.

So, gold ball or not, it'll be an emotional time.

"If we win this game, three in a row, I don't know if I'll cheer or cry,” said Condict. “There are some guys that have meant so much to our program. They bettered my career."

Running back K.J. Lee added, "Every senior class, they always wanted us to keep it going and not lose our tradition, so we just took that challenge upon ourselves and made it happen."

Condict said the winner will come down to who plays like they’ve played all year.
