The Norman North Timberwolves are 12-0 this football season. Friday night the team plays for the 6A State Championship Title against Tulsa Union.

One reason for the Norman North's perfect season may be a special group of seniors who  know each other all too well.

Toughness is leading to a path of perfection for the T-wolves. With an arsenal of weapons to choose from, coach Brent Barnes knows this team is special.

“Not a coincidence all the intangible they bring, leads to the success like we are having,” said Norman North Head Coach Brent Barnes.

But this road was paved long ago when the teams 17 seniors started playing with or against each other in elementary.

QB Brandon Marquardt has the best arm in the state today.  He and his buddies made a bond early  - off and on the field. Marquardt and receiver Collin Klein say their success started with a trash can. Marquardt would throw deep and Klein would run to the target.

“Basically, how it went, he just threw it and I would run and go get it. Same story now. Throw it deep. We’re still doing it today,” said Klein.

Klein Scored a big touchdown in the T-wolves win against Union two weeks ago, opening a big door to a district championship.

The chemistry between the Norman North players and their fans and families, means everything, especially for Marquardt who lost his grandmother in November.

“She’s my number one fan on and off the field. She called an encouraged me even when I’m down. I will miss those talks,” said Marquardt.

Brandon hopes to lead his Norman North Timberwolves to a state championship Friday night, but he'll be playing for Nana.
