Six more Oklahomans, including three in Oklahoma County, have been hospitalized with influenza in the past week, according to state health officials.
The Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) says while there has been no deaths reported due to the flu, 28 people have now been hospitalized because of the illness since the flu season began in October.
Last week, the department reported 22 hospitalizations in 11 counties. This week, the OSDH says there are now 28 cases in 13 counties.
The new hospitalizations this week are in the following counties,
Carter 2
Cleveland 2
Creek 3
Hughes 1
Logan 2
Mayes 1
McClain 1
Muskogee 3
Oklahoma 3
Pottawatomie 2
Seminole 1
Stephens 1
Tulsa 5
Every Thursday, the OSDH releases its weekly influenza report and will continue to do so until May 2017.
