Bird and Squirrel Feeders

  • 4 cups bird seed
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 3 tablespoon corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup chopped dry fruit
  • 4 envelopes unflavored gelatin
  • 1 1/3 cup boiling water
  • Cooking spray
  • large cookie cutters
  • Twine
  1. In a large bowl stir together the boiling water and gelatin.
  2. Combine all of the other ingredients with the gelatin.
  3. Spray the cookie cutters with cooking spray and place on a parchment lined baking sheet.
  4. Using a spoon place the mixture into the cookie cutters.
  5. Make sure and press down to pack into the cookie cutter firmly.
  6. sing a straw or skewer make a hole in the seed ornament for hanging.
  7. Place in the refrigerator for 2 hours to set up and then place the ornament on your counter to dry out completely overnight or you can place in a 200 degree oven for an hour.
