A McCurtain County man will spend his 26th birthday on Wednesday behind bars in the Oklahoma County jail, but he has much bigger problems than that.

Edmond police arrested Autrayus McGee Monday night in a west Edmond mobile home park.

People who live in one of those mobile homes — and know McGee -- called police after McGee showed up at their home.

Police said McGee has been wanted for the past four months McCurtain County for several felonies, including rape and robbery, for assaults that occurred in Broken Bow in late July.

An Edmond police officer shot McGee once in the leg Monday night when McGee tried to run away.

Samuel Armstrong and his family live nearby.

“What went through my mind? My children first of all,” he said.

Edmond police said there had been a $1.5 million bond out for McGee since early August.
