A fire on Sunday morning destroyed the home of nine children and two adults in Guthrie. It is considered a total loss and the family said they are not sure where they are going to live next.
“We just moved in about two months ago,” said Linda York.
She and Chris Bryan were sleeping downstairs when the fire started in the attic. Normally, there are always children in the house, but they were sleeping over at family members’ homes over the weekend.
“That hardly ever happens, so it’s a blessing from God that we didn’t have any of them here,” York said.
Their children range from ages 2 to 13. There are eight girls and one boy. All the kids lived upstairs where the fire started. Hardly any items are salvageable.

Firefighters broke down the door on Sunday and the family dog bolted out the door. York and Bryan were asking people to keep an eye out for their dog Sunday night.
As News 9 arrived on scene, the dog was spotted in the backyard and News 9 called York and Bryan on the phone. They arrived and were reunited with their dog Sugar.
The couple said they do not have renters insurance, but are ready to move forward. They are grateful that everyone, including Sugar, made it out alive.
