Baked Brie with Caramelized Onion & Apple

Baked Brie With Caramelized Onion & Apple

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, chilled
  • 1 round of brie
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 green apples, peeled and chopped
  • 1/2 onion 
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme
  • 2 tablespoon chopped pecans
  • 2 tablespoon honey
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. In a small skillet sauté the apples, onion, thyme and pecans in 2 tablespoon olive oil till the apples and onions are caramelized.
  4. Remove from the heat.
  5. Using a well-chilled sheet of puff pastry, place the Brie round in the center of the pastry.
  6. Add the caramelized mixture on top of the brie, Drizzle with honey.
  7. Bring up the sides of the chilled puff pastry to the center of the brie. Make sure and cover the brie completely.
  8. Brush with beaten egg and bake for 35-40 minutes.
