Monday evening, the Edmond City Council approved the site plan and a zoning change for a proposed $160 million, 26 acre expansion of the Spring Creek retail district.

The Memphis-based developer Poag Development plans 50 new shops, as well as 325 high-end apartments for the area.

Victoria Woods has owned Chappelwood Financial and Investments near E 15th and Bryant for 15 years.

She said the expansion will dramatically affect 75 percent of her three and a half acre property.

“It’s disappointing because we’ve been totally ignored and it doesn’t matter and we’ve been here for 15 years,” she said.

Several residents Monday night spoke for and against the developer’s plans.

A city spokesman told News 9, the project, while still on schedule, will need to clear other hurdles before construction begins next fall.
