Russell Westbrook scored 33 points to go with eight assists and 15 rebounds in a losing effort, but it wasn’t enough as the Pistons outscored the Thunder in three of the four quarters.

Despite playing without their two best players, Andre Drummond and Reggie Jackson, the Pistons roared out of the games to an 8-1 lead while building up a mammoth 55-37 lead in the first half.

While OKC was able to put together a solid end to the second quarter, the Pistons still led by 12 at intermission. Westbrook totaled 25 points at half while the rest of OKC’s starters combined to score seven points.

The Thunder tried to scrap together points in the second half while head coach Billy Donovan tried to get creative with a mixture of lineups, but too many empty possessions and a brutal 18.5 percent (5-27) mark from three-point range was too much for OKC to overcome.

No other Thunder starter besides Westbrook scored in double-digits, but Kanter tallied 10 points off the bench and Jerami Grant was solid in his 26 minutes of action with 11 points.

Tobias Harris led Detroit with 22 points while Aron Baynes was a force in the paint with 20 points and eight boards.

OKC will attempt to right the ship on Wednesday night when the Thunder host James Harden and the Rockets.
