Neighbors in far west OKC near the Yukon border are up in arms over two proposed wastewater disposal wells.

YDF Inc. has proposed to build the wells near NW10th St. and Cimarron Rd.

Neighbors worry about traffic and possible pollution in the area with the disposal wells. They have hired an attorney who argued their stance at a hearing around three weeks ago.

The Oklahoma Corporation Commission (OCC) has the final say on the application.

“Why does it have to right across the street from a family?” asked neighbor Stephanie Breedlove.

Breedlove says she and other neighbors have had problems with the landowner in the past. They claim YDF Inc. owner Harold Poague was illegally mining dirt from his property and refused to flatten mounds of dirt after he stopped.

“That dirt that's piling up is blowing straight to my house,” said Breedlove.

Poague will not provide News 9 details on his wastewater disposal well plan. He only says the issue is in the hands of the OCC and he won’t “play this out in the news.”
